For the distribution of our electronic (“online”) newsletter we use the distribution processor “MailChimp”, a newsletter distribution platform by the US company Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU Data Protection Law “Privacy Shield” and is committed to abiding to the EU Data Protection Guidelines. You can look into the MailChimp Privacy Statement here

The email addresses of our newsletter recipients are saved on the MailChimp server in America. MailChimp uses this information to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf. Furthermore MailChimp can use this data to optimise and improve their services. MailChimp, however, does not use the newsletter recipients’ data in order to make contact themselves or pass them onto a third party.

In the framework of the statistics collected by MailChimp, it can be ascertained whether the newsletter was opened, when it was opened and which links the recipient clicked on. The evaluation of this data serves to discover more about the reading habits of our newsletter subscribers and tailor our content to meet their requirements as best as possible, or to send different information tailor-made to our subscribers.
